| About Latvian Academy of Sports Education |
| Latvian Academy of Sport Education was founded on September 6, 1921. It is the only education institution of a specialized university type in Latvia that trains sport specialists. During 97 years of its existence 10 728 sport specialists have graduated from the Latvian Academy of Sport Education. The goal of the Institute was to train teachers of physical education, work out theoretical and practical issues of physical education, supervision of physical development and physical education in the country. The teaching staff of the LASE has also increased qualitatively and quantitatively to bring specialization and quality in the education system. Apart from this, it is only higher education institution in Latvian, which coordinates and conducts research in sport, as well as educates sports science specialists. |
