Why Study in Norway?

• Whether it is a course in civil engineering or marine engineering or also environmental engineering, students will be pleased to know that there is a Norwegian university that offers a course in that field of study. There are courses that help students to specialize in certain aspects that are covered as an overall subject elsewhere.
• A common query from any student of engineering is whether he will get a degree that is recognized in other parts of the world. Norwegian degrees in engineering are accepted as the best in the world and lend a greater degree of credibility to the student.
• Another important aspect that worries many students is of the language barrier. However, it will be heartening to them to know that a majority of the courses that they pursue when they will study engineering in Norway are offered in English.

Documents Required:

STUDY PERMIT DOCUMENT CHECKLIST

Prepare all the necessary documents before you deliver the application to the Embassy, otherwise the application might be returned.

All documents have to be translated into English or Norwegian. If necessary, the verification should be made by Indian Ministry of External Affairs. Note that all documents need to be submitted in original and 2 copies.

The Embassy may contact the applicant to request additional documents.

1. Passport/Travel document shall have been issued within the previous 10 years & should be valid for 2 months after expiry of the visa with at least two blank pages.
2. Passport photo (white background) not older than six months (35-40MM).
3. Application Form for “Residence permit” duly completed.
4. Applicant's "Applicant Information Form", duly completed.
5. The "Letter of Admission" issued by the Norwegian institution of learning. The letter must contain your name, information about the educational institution, the studies and level to which you have been admitted, plus the length of the studies.
6. Study Plan Form.
7. Financial Plan Form.
8. Proof of accommodation in Norway (e.g. Tenancy agreement, lease of house, etc.).
9. Documentation of English skills.
10. Financial Guarantee:
    • Self-financed applicants should deposit the money in a Norwegian bank account in the applicant's name or in the educational institution’s account and provide documentation. NOK 10,1000 for one year. Not applicable for students at folk high school. For more information contact your educational institute.
    • If the applicant has been granted financial support from the Norwegian State Educational Fund, please present the original letter of approval.
    • If the applicant has an economic guarantee from a sponsor, the money should be deposited in a Norwegian bank account in the applicant's name. Please provide documentation.
11. Documentation of last educational degree with notarial certificate or letter from your educational institution.
12. Copy of your passport (all relevant and used pages).
13. Documentation proving change of name (if any).
14. For other citizens: valid Indian residence permit.
15. Processing fee - draft of 7500 INR in the name of “Royal Norwegian Embassy, New Delhi” payable at any.

Important Facts to remember during file submitting:

• All the documents mentioned above should be in A4 size only & should be translated in English Language.
• All applicants have to personally sign Declaration 55 and Travel Health Insurance Notice.
• Please remember to take the courier charges of Rs.1500 from the student if they would like us to courier the blocked account details to Norway.
• 2 sets of documents are required.
• Personal appearance at German embassy is mandatory for all applicants.

Important information

1. Student has to show the confirmation of fee receipt, after the payment of tuition fees.
2. But in case there is a less fee & that student has to pay after arrival in Norway, then in that case student has to show Saving Account statement showing the sufficient balance that student is able to pay his tuition fees.
3. Also student has to show the income proof of his earning family member like parents, & it should include salary account statement or salary slips, etc.- (It is required as embassy ask from where you will going to bear your next year living expenses so student can show this that his family is earning this much that they can support him for further studies & for further living)
4. Sponsorship letter is also required from parents.
5. Any third party can also sponsor so, in that case income proof of third party, sponsorship letter from third party & relationship proof will be required.
